Consider what a once religious, hater of Jesus Christ said after he found new life.
Paul said, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”
I Corinthians 15:3-4

Why did Jesus Christ have to die for sins? Because we all sin and sin has a steep price – death.
Romans 6:23 says “for the wages of sin is death.”

You and I have no way to pay for our sins. Being good, going to church, being baptized,  saying prayers, giving – none of this can pay for sin. We needed someone to take our place to pay for sin.  Jesus died in my place.
Romans 5:8 says “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

The Bible describes repentance as godly sorrow over sin and our rebellion against God. It is described as repentance from dead works, or anything we thought we could do to earn God’s favor.  True repentance is a change of mind about God and sin that results in faith in Jesus Christ as the Savior of all who come to Him for salvation. Hebrews states of Christ, “When He had by Himself purged our sins…” Christ died for our sins and we must repent of our attitude toward God that we are anything less than deserving of Hell for our sin and trust that only the blood of Christ can make atonement for our sin.

Paul shared what he first chose to accept – Jesus is the Savior I need. You can have new life, just like Paul, if you will see your need (a sinner deserving God’s punishment) and call out to your only remedy – Jesus Christ, God’s perfect substitute. The Bible says: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”

My friend, if you have accepted Christ as your only Savior – telling the world is your calling! Tell someone today what you have received – New Life in Christ – it is needed by all!
